Speaker: Erik Severinghaus, IBM Corp.
Grid has evolved from a technology for early adopters to a reliable enabler
that allows companies to better respond to dynamic market conditions.
Implementations are as varied as the organizations that use them; some are
large and complex, while others are small and simple. Many choose to start
small, launching their grid within a single department and growing over
time. As an organization realizes value from the grid solution and builds
expertise, the function and sophistication can be expanded to the
enterprise. Whether your primary need is to improve speed of computing,
information exchange or both you need a place to start and a roadmap for
next steps. This session will discuss how to get started quickly and
expand intelligently and will include lessons learned from a multitude of
commercial Grid implementations.
