Karl Solchenbach
Director for Cluster and Grid Computing, Intel Corporation.

Karl Solchenbach is the Director for Cluster and Grid Computing at Intel Corporation. He came to Intel by way of Intel's acquisition of Pallas in 2003. Pallas became the Intel Cologne Software Lab, which leads the development of cluster tools and grid technology in Intel and is involved in various Grid projects. In 1991, Solchenbach was the co-founder of Pallas, and served as its managing director until 2003. During that time, Pallas became a leading HPC software company with a strong focus on Grid technology. Prior to founding Pallas, Solchenbach was a scientist at the Federal Institute for Mathematics and IT (GMD), and the head of application software development at SUPRENUM. He was a co-initiator of the Unicore project and the coordinator of the Eurogrid project. Solchenbach has a diploma in mathematics from the University of Bonn.
