The Advanced MDS session will focus on advanced usage and customization of the MDS4 software in Globus Toolkit version 4. This material is targeted towards developers and system administrators. API usage, integration, and configuration will be discussed for each topic.
The topics covered include:
1. Creating and integrating custom Resource Property Information Providers with the new Resource Property Information Provider framework.
2. Querying resource properties using XPath with the standard command-line interface and Java API, and defining namespace mappings to use with XPath queries.
3. Using the Trigger Service to monitor resources and take action when interesting conditions arise.
4. Creating custom WebMDS views.
Prerequisites:
Working knowledge of Java and XML, basic familiarity with XPath. Some familiarity with MDS.
