Speaker: John Vaughan, EVP, DataRoad.
This presentation covers where DataRoad's current infrastructure stands, issues that DataRoad is facing today and what the future holds.
DataRoad has been a national provider of Managed Services for companies running on Oracle Applications for nearly 5 years now. DataRoad's Managed Services provides infrastructure and full Applications and Technologies access with management and maintenance support - including Virtual Admin, Hosting, Help Desk and Disaster Recovery.
Before implementing Grid Computing at DataRoad, DataRoad's infrastructure consisted of various types of hardware, different OS configurations, and cables for everything. The set up was extremely labor intensive, error prone and riddled with inconsistencies. In addition, the old infrastructure necessitated remote hands to effectively monitor and manage Client Applications.
Since implementing Grid Computing, DataRoad has been able to significantly reduce the complexity and increase consistency of their infrastructure while achieving higher availability, improved quality and reduced risk for Managed Services clients. Grid Computing has allowed DataRoad to become truly scalable, redundant, and automate much of ongoing system management.
