Dr. Jefferson Tan is a research fellow at Monash University in Australia. Since 2004, has been working within what is now known as the Monash e-Science and Grid Engineering Lab, focusing on security aspects of Grid computing. He has been a systems administrator for 14 years and a lecturer for 6 years. He was also director of the Advanced Research Institute for Computing at De La Salle University (Manila) for two years. He obtained a PhD from Monash University in 2004, on schema mapping using metamodels. He also holds M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from De La Salle University (Manila), both in computer science. His research interests are predominantly concerning network security and information integration.
