Senior Project Manager, NCSA.
Dr. Michael Freemon is a Senior Project Manager in the Cyberenvironments and Technologies Directorate at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois. Mike has over 20 years experience in the Information Technology industry. His most recent work includes managing NCSA’s participation in the NSF Middleware Initiative (NMI) GRIDS Center and leading the design and deployment of the LTERgrid for the Long-Term Ecological Research community. Mike is currently leading the design and development of a grid security architecture for the National Virtual Observatory (NVO), and is project manager for the National Center for Advanced Secure Systems Research (NCASSR), a program to conduct basic and applied research leading to development of next generation information security technologies that address national cybersecurity needs and requirements.
