Leader, Acxiom Corp.
 Chuck Howland serves as the Grid Infrastructure Development Group Leader for Acxiom Corporation and plays a key role in setting the company's technology direction. Under Chuck's leadership, the group focuses on research, development, and support of Acxiom's grid infrastructure computing technologies.
One of Chuck's most notable achievements at Acxiom was in his role in re-engineering Acxiom's flagship InfoBase Enhancement Product in 2003 from a mainframe to a parallel grid computing platform that led to a new business transformational outsourcing offering. He also served as the company's Year 2000 Leadership Champion from 1998 to 2000-a role that resulted in Acxiom's successful transition into the new millennium. Previous Acxiom assignments include the Information Technology Group Leader of the Data Products Division, Research and Development business development leader, business development leader for enterprise architecture and consulting systems analyst leading standards.
Chuck began his career at Acxiom in 1989, which has helped build his 26 years experience in the enterprise information technology industry specializing in the financial industry. He also sits on the board of the Acxiom Laboratory of Advanced Research (ALAR). ALAR is collaboration between Acxiom Corporation and its university research partners. Current participants include the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR); the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (UAF); and the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority (ASTA); MIT Information Quality Program.
Prior to joining Acxiom, Chuck was the vice president of development and systems consultant for Sercon Corporation. He also served as the electronic funds transfer system programming manager for Union National Bank and was vice president of systems and programming for FirstSouth Savings & Loan.
Chuck graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. Chuck lives with his wife in Maumelle, Ark. and they have three children.
