For the last 25 years, Dr. Dunning has developed ground-breaking technologies in emerging markets of digital media, and behavioral analysis.
Dr. Dunning was the Chief Scientist at Musicmatch (now Yahoo Music). During his tenure, Dr. Dunning architected the world's most sophisticated music management and recommendation system, which has made Musicmatch winner of PC Magazine Editor's Choice Award 7 years in a row.
Dr. Dunning also served as Chief Scientist at ID Analytics, and Aptex (an HNC Software company).
Prior to his industrial work, Dr. Dunning spent over a decade in academic research where he was a principal investigator in computational linguistics, information retrieval and conducted research in robotics, image processing and genetic sequence analysis. His academic work is widely cited and the award-winning applications of his industrial work are used world-wide.
Dr. Dunning has been the author of numerous patents and publications, and is highly sought after as a speaker and educator.
Dr. Dunning holds a BS Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado, MS Computer Science from New Mexico State University, and a PhD Computing Science from Sheffield University.
In his spare time, Dr. Dunning is an accomplished magician and botanical photographer.
