 Gary Beach brings over 17 years of information technology (IT) publishing experience and knowledge to his role as group publisher of CXO Media. Beach's primary responsibility at CIO is to create new business opportunities for CXO Media's fastest growing publication and its related products.
A prolific presenter, Beach is a coveted spokesman throughout the United States. He has testified before both the U.S. House and Senate on the Year 2000 technology problem and is frequently quoted by major media organizations such as CNN, USA Today, Newsweek, C-SPAN and MSNBC. Further, Beach is a commentator for National Public Radio's "All Things Considered." Most recently, he shared results of the monthly CIO Magazine Tech Poll in partnership with yardeni.comTM with major business and financial outlets such as CNBC, CNNfn and CNET radio.
Beach serves on the U.S. Department of Commerce's National IT Workforce Committee; is an overseer at the Computer Museum in Boston; and serves on the Board of Directors of NetDay, a nonprofit organization that focuses on education technology. In 1994, Beach founded a national non-profit organization dedicated to coordinating the education technology efforts of 10,000 volunteers in the United States; currently, he serves as chairman of this organization, the United States Tech Corps (www.techcorps.com).
Prior to joining CXO Media, Beach held several technology publishing posts at McGraw-Hill and International Data Group (IDG), CIO magazine's parent company.
